Sanaa — Abdul Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah group, has called upon the people of Yemen to take to the streets in large-scale demonstrations in the capital Sanaa and other provinces on Sunday, 1 February 2026, in support of Iran and to assert Islamic solidarity, provided such actions are conducted at times and locations determined by the organising committee.

Al-Houthi characterised this popular movement as part of comprehensive preparedness to confront military developments. In a televised address, he described American-Israeli aggression against Iran as part of a Zionist project aimed at reshaping the region and enabling Israel to impose its dominance under the guise of transforming the Middle East to achieve what he termed “Greater Israel”.

“The attack on Iran is an unjust, blatant, and criminal aggression against a Muslim nation without justifiable cause,” he stated, as reported by Al Jazeera on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

Al-Houthi asserted that the attacks targeted Iran’s civilian population, government institutions, and Islamic system, and that they extended to include primary schools for girls, resulting in dozens of schoolgirl casualties. He called upon the Islamic world to adopt a unified and sincere stance in full solidarity with the Iranian people and Islamic Republic, demanding that all forms of political and media pressure be mobilised to halt what he described as American-Israeli aggression.

Praising what he called Iran’s “legitimate jihad role,” al-Houthi affirmed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and Iranian armed forces possess strong military capabilities and sufficient free will and courage to confront aggression. According to al-Houthi, they have targeted Israeli enemy positions and American military bases in the region.
