Yemen’s Houthi group attacked Riyadh International Airport in Saudi Arabia with missiles, killing 12 people.

The attack on Riyadh Airport killed at least 12 people and injured 309 others, according to a statement by the civil aviation authorities, AFP reported on Sunday (11 October 2026).

US President Donald Trump said he would soon decide whether to join Saudi Arabia’s attacks on the Iran-backed Houthi group following the strike on Riyadh airport.

“We might do it. We’ll consider it. We’ve just learned about this latest attack, so we’ll make a decision,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

“We’re acting very quickly,” he added.

The embassies of several foreign countries in Saudi Arabia warned their citizens to stay away from Riyadh Airport. The UK, Canada, Germany, Spain and the United States urged their nationals to avoid the airport and follow local security instructions.

In a message on X, the Spanish Embassy said the warning had been issued following a “new attack” by the Houthi group on the airport, where witnesses had earlier told AFP that an evacuation order had been given.

Separately, a diplomatic source told AFP that the Houthi group had struck the airport with a missile at around noon local time.
