PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has recorded cumulative disbursements for its Housing Program Credit (KPP) at Rp7.4 trillion since the programme’s launch. This achievement consists of Rp5.4 trillion in supply-side disbursements and Rp2.0 trillion in demand-side disbursements.

BTN’s Director of Corporate Banking, Helmy Afrisa, explained that the KPP scheme is designed to reach the entire housing ecosystem, ranging from home providers to productive communities. The bank has collaborated with MSMEs in the developer, building materials, and contractor sectors for the supply side.

“We also have several existing customers who are entrepreneurs on the KPP demand side,” said Helmat following a KPP socialisation event at Menara BTN, Jakarta, on Friday.

In detail, KPP supply is intended for developers, contractors, and building material traders with credit ceilings of up to Rp5 billion. Meanwhile, KPP demand provides financing of up to Rp500 million for individual MSMEs for the purposes of buying, building, or renovating houses, which simultaneously supports their business activities.

The growth potential for this programme is considered very large. In the Jakarta area and its surroundings alone, BTN recorded 353 interests with a total ceiling of Rp424.944 billion. This figure includes 57 KPP supply interests worth Rp288.970 billion and 296 KPP demand interests amounting to Rp135.974 billion.

The Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, expressed appreciation for the implementation of KPP by BTN. According to him, this programme serves as an important instrument for MSME players within the housing ecosystem to scale up through supportive interest rate subsidies.

“The programme may be new, not yet a year old, but the response has been very positive. Absorption is very high, which is why the quota has been increased from Rp36 trillion to Rp50 trillion. On the supply side, BTN is the highest,” Maruarar stated.

BTN is committed to continuing to strengthen collaboration with the government and other stakeholders. Helmy added that for productive communities, a house is not merely a place to live, but an asset that can increase productivity and family welfare.

In addition to subsidised landed houses, the Ministry of PKP is also encouraging the construction of subsidised low-cost flats in several regions of Central Java that have high density and limited land availability.
