The Supervisory Board for State-Owned Enterprises (BP BUMN) has confirmed that 324 housing units built for residents living along the railway bank in the Senen area of Central Jakarta are now 100 per cent complete and can be occupied immediately. BP BUMN Chief and Chief Operating Officer of Danantara Indonesia, Dony Oskaria, stated on Wednesday that the project’s completion is part of efforts to reorganise densely populated areas. The housing development programme also follows up on a directive from President Prabowo Subianto to reorganise railway bank areas long considered accident-prone. “Physical progress has reached 100 per cent. We are now ensuring the final stages of utilisation, the readiness of supporting facilities, and cross-agency coordination,” Dony said. He also wants to ensure the community can soon occupy new housing that is safe, comfortable, and more humane. “This is not just about houses. It is about resident safety and improving quality of life. President Prabowo’s directive must be clear,” he stated. In addition to providing shelter, the residential area has been equipped with various supporting facilities, including a mosque, children’s playground, toilets, a communal kitchen, public amenities, and water tanks to meet residents’ basic needs. “We want residents to be happy and safe. This is our priority,” Dony concluded. To ensure readiness for the housing utilisation, he and the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Maruarar Sirait, conducted a direct inspection and held a coordination meeting to ensure all operational and utilisation aspects proceed according to plan.
