Housing Ministry's Budget Utilisation at 13.4% as of May 25

The Ministry of Housing and Settlement (PKP) has utilised Rp 1.38 trillion, or 13.44%, of its budget by 25 May 2026. Minister PKP Maruarar Sirait stated that the expenditure comprises staff costs, goods and services, and capital spending. “The budget utilisation for the Ministry of Housing up to 25 May is Rp 1.38 trillion or 13.4 per cent,” said the Gerindra Party politician during a working session with the House of Representatives’ Commission V at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (26/05/2026). “This year, we aim for 97.48 per cent utilisation, a one per cent increase from last year’s absorption rate,” he added. The PKP Ministry’s 2026 budget allocation stands at Rp 10.3 trillion after a reduction of Rp 58.6 billion. Maruarar noted that the ministry’s strategic programme for 2026 remains focused on home rehabilitation through the Self-Help Housing Assistance (BSPS) scheme. He said BSPS accounts for 83.12 per cent of the ministry’s total budget, amounting to Rp 8.57 trillion. This funding will support the construction and improvement of 400,000 housing units in coastal, urban, and rural areas as a government priority. In addition to BSPS, budget allocations are also designated for the construction of apartment units, special housing, infrastructure, facilities, and utilities (PSU) assistance, and slum eradication programmes.
