Housing Minister Ensures Subsidised Home Instalments Can Extend to 30 Years
Housing and Spatial Planning Minister Maruarar Sirait has announced that subsidised home instalments have been extended from 20 to 30 years. The policy has been discussed with the People’s Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) and has received approval from President Prabowo Subianto.
“To lower the monthly instalment, if there are other measures that can ease the burden on the people, we will certainly implement them,” Sirait said in Cikarang Selatan, Bekasi Regency, on Sunday, 8 March 2026.
Sirait stated that these subsidised homes are intended for low-income households. The provision of housing is distributed through the government’s three-million-home programme, which is one of President Prabowo’s flagship initiatives.
Subsidised homes are being provided in the form of landed houses. The government will also provide vertical housing, or apartment units, totalling 140,000 units in the Meikarta area, Cikarang Selatan, Bekasi Regency, following receipt of a land donation of 30.7 hectares from Lippo Group.
“We will certainly establish policies that are calm, precise, and wise, which also take into account the capacity of our people,” Sirait added.
Previously, BP Tapera recorded that 278,868 subsidised home units were financed through the Housing Finance Liquidity Facility (FLPP) in 2025. This year also has the same target of 350,000 units to receive FLPP financing.
During 2025, FLPP beneficiaries included private sector workers accounting for 205,311 units (73.63 per cent), self-employed individuals with 39,218 units (14.06 per cent), civil servants with 20,814 units (7.46 per cent), military and police personnel with 5,409 units (1.94 per cent), and others with 8,083 units (2.90 per cent), plus 33 units from other segments (0.01 per cent).
