Housing Complex in Pela Mampang, South Jakarta, Flooded; Residents Evacuated by Rubber Boat
Flooding submerged a housing complex in the Pela Mampang area of Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, with water levels reaching 75 centimetres.
“The flooding in the housing area has reached a depth of 75 centimetres,” said Jakarta Metropolitan Police Directorate of Public Order chief Commissioner Wahyu Dwi Ariwibowo in a statement on Friday (20 February 2026).
The flooding occurred after Jakarta was hit by heavy rainfall from the early hours of the morning. As a result, the Krukut River overflowed into residential areas.
“The water discharge from the Krukut River has risen significantly. All types of vehicles are unable to pass through,” he said.
Members of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Public Order Directorate remain on standby at the location to assist residents. Officers are evacuating residents using rubber boats.
“Our personnel are carrying out evacuations for residents who require assistance,” he added.
