Housing complex
Housing complex
From Neraca
I am concerned with the social problems prevailing in our
community. I deplore the Lebak Regent's policy of giving
permission to a developer to construct a housing complex in the
Rangkasbitung district, Lebak Regency, West Java, because the
complex is built on productive land.
This is in breach to the government regulation which
stipulates that productive land must not be turned to housing
complexes. With the construction of the housing complex, the
irrigation system in Rangkasbitung, which was built and financed
by the local government, does not functioning, which means a
great financial loss.
The community is also suffering a great loss because the
developer only paid Rp 5000 to Rp 10,000 per square meter of land
as compensation, which is far from the people's expectations. On
the other hand the developer makes a great fortune from the
establishment of the housing complex. How could the government
let the people suffer this way?
