Housing and Settlement Minister inspects Depok Rusun construction site
Depok, West Java – The Minister for Housing and Settlement (PKP), Maruarar Sirat, personally inspected the site that will be used for a Rusun project in Depok City, West Java. He said the land belongs to the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Komdigi) and has promised to conduct land clearing to become build-ready land within six months. Sirat, commonly known as Ara, said he would coordinate not only with Komdigi but also with relevant parties such as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Police (Polri) and the Depok City Government to ensure the Depok Rusun project can be realised soon. “We will immediately hold a meeting to discuss the construction of the Depok Rusun,” he said. Deputy Mayor of Depok Chandra Rahmansyah expressed full support for the project. “This Rusun is intended for Low-Income Public (MBR) and prioritised for Depok residents who do not currently own a home,” he said. Chandra noted that, according to Komdigi, the 45-hectare site has resolved legal issues. “We are ready to facilitate all needs for the MBR Rusun, such as land clearing, enforcement and permitting,” he added.
