Housing and Settlement Areas Minister and Home Affairs Minister review house rehabilitation programme in NTB
Lombok Barat, NTB (ANTARA) - The Minister for Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, together with the Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, reviewed the house rehabilitation programme through the Self-help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) in Lombok Barat Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Tuesday. In this review, Maruarar Sirait and Tito Karnavian were accompanied by Maluku Governor Henrik Lewerissa, Maluku Utara Governor Sherly Tjoanda, East Nusa Tenggara Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena, Lombok Barat Regent Nurul Adha, and member of the DPR RI Commission V Abdul Hadi. In the presence of recipients of the house rehabilitation aid, PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait said that the total PKP budget for 2026 is Rp10 trillion. Of that amount, more than Rp8 trillion or 80 percent is allocated for the people’s house rehabilitation program across the archipelago, including NTB. ‘The rest is to pay salaries and other things. Even so, it does not reach 10 percent. This is how our budgeting policy truly pro-people,’ he said. ‘This is the government’s struggle for the people of NTB,’ said Ara, the nickname for Maruarar Sirait. He emphasised that the aid is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s programme to broaden access to decent housing for low-income communities. ‘The government never discriminates in taking care of the people. There are no golden children and no stepchildren,’ he asserted.
