Housing and Public Works Minister Maruarar Sirait has said that workers are the occupational group that most utilised the allocation of subsidised landed housing last year. He noted, citing data from the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera), that the government channelled the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) for 278,868 housing units across 2025. Of that total, the share used by workers reached 66,000 units.

‘This also proves that worker colleagues view housing as something important, as a priority, alongside clothes and food,’ said Maruarar Sirait, commonly known as Ara, in Jakarta on Thursday.

He also praised the public’s move to recognise the need to prepare a dwelling well in advance.

‘Truthfully, BP Tapera has been implementing that (the distribution of subsidised housing) well, but this year it needs to improve further,’ Ara said.

For this year, he said one area earmarked for worker housing development is in the Meikarta area, Lippo Cikarang, West Java.

He stated that subsidised flats are already being built in the area and aim to begin purchase agreements by the end of this year.
