Housewife stabbed by guest

TANGERANG, West Java (JP): The police have arrested an unemployed man for stabbing his friend's wife, after she asked him to vacate her house which he had been living in for two months.

A police officer at Jatiuwung police sub-precinct said the man, Khairullah, 28, got angry when the victim, Hilda, 24, asked him to vacate her house. Hilda's husband, Zubariya, is a close friend of the suspect.

Zubariya told The Jakarta Post that the rented house was full because Zubariya's two relatives also lived there. And Khairullah's presence bothered the family.

Zubariya said he had no idea why Khairullah got angry with Hilda's request.

Khairullah admitted to the police that he had stabbed Hilda several times with a sword. She is being treated at the Tangerang general hospital.

Zubariya acknowledged that his wife had been the suspect's girlfriend "a long time ago". (jun/28)
