A housewife with the initials E in the city of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), was caught in a sting operation (OTT) by the Mataram Besar Supervisory Agency for Food and Drugs (BBPOM). Investigators seized hundreds of tablets of suspected illegal drugs from her.

“BBPOM investigators carried out an OTT on February 25, 2026, against a housewife with the initials E in the Mataram area. She is suspected of being involved in the distribution of drugs without distribution permits or not meeting the standards and requirements for safety, quality, and efficacy,” said the Head of BBPOM Mataram, Yogi Abaso, in Mataram, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

During the operation, investigators found a number of prescription drugs that were allegedly distributed without official permits.

“From this activity, investigators secured evidence in the form of 15 strips of 10 tablets (150 tablets) of suspected Tramadol, and 10 strips of 10 tablets (100 tablets) of Alprazolam 1 mg,” he explained.

A total of 250 tablets were seized from E. The drugs are known to be in a category that requires strict regulations and supervision for their distribution.

Yogi said that investigators are still investigating this case to trace the origin and purpose of the drug distribution.

“Currently, BBPOM investigators in Mataram are still conducting further investigations to determine the origin and intended use of the drugs. This activity is the ultimum remedium, the final step in law enforcement efforts to prevent drug abuse and protect the public,” he said.
