Housewife in Bima Reported to Police for Criticising Pregnant Women's MBG Menu
Emilia (35), a housewife in Pai Village, Wera Subdistrict, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been reported to the police by a partner of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG). Emilia was reported solely for highlighting the menu of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme and its distribution in the evening.
“Yes, that’s true. I was reported a few days ago,” said Emilia when confirmed by detikBali on Sunday (11/4/2026).
Emilia revealed that she was reported to the Bima City Police Resort by the SPPG Oi Tui partner in Wera Subdistrict. She suspects the report is closely related to a video of her spotlight and criticism of the MBG menu that she uploaded to social media (social media) Facebook some time ago.
Through her Facebook account @Arif Emilia, Emilia highlighted the MBG menu distributed by SPPG Oi Tui, which is suspected to be unfit for consumption, especially by pregnant women. The reason is that the portions and menu consist only of plain white rice, cucumber, and side dish (chicken).
“In addition, I highlighted that MBG beneficiaries have to pick up the menu themselves and must bring their own plastic bags from home. And it is distributed in the evening,” explained Emilia.
After the video went viral with comments and shares, Emilia immediately received a summons from the Specific Criminal Unit (Tipidter) of the Bima City Police Resort Criminal Investigation Unit. Through the letter, Emilia was asked to appear before the investigator to provide a statement on Monday (12/4/2026).
“According to the summons letter received. Tomorrow I have to appear at the Bima City Police Resort to give a statement,” said Emilia.
Emilia emphasised that she is not ungrateful for the MBG distributed. However, that does not mean she cannot criticise and highlight it, considering the MBG programme is funded by public tax money, including hers.
“That’s not the personal money of the MBG kitchen owner, so why are we forbidden from criticising if the menu is not nutritious and does not comply with the provisions,” stressed Emilia.
The Head of SPPG Oi Tui, Egi Juflianto, confirmed the report. However, Egi claimed the matter is purely personal between the SPPG Oi Tui partner and the Facebook user.
“Indeed, it was reported by the SPPG partner,” explained Egi.
Egi emphasised that SPPG Oi Tui is trying to mediate the issue. However, there are obstacles, such as numerous demands from various parties and the facility owner feeling disadvantaged.
“This also needs to be examined, both from another side entering an ethical code violation. On the other side, experiencing personal loss,” explained Egi.
