Housewife in Angke, West Jakarta, allegedly murdered by husband
A housewife with the initials R (40) died on Friday afternoon at around 3 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, allegedly murdered by her husband, identified as ES (30), at their residence on Jalan Padamulya VIII, RT/RW 001/09, Angke, Tambora, West Jakarta. The Head of Criminal Investigation for the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Irfan Sipayung, confirmed the suspected murder. “Yes, that’s correct, (the victim) died allegedly murdered by her husband,” Arfan said when contacted on Friday evening. The case is currently being handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Division. “It is being handled by the PPA Unit. It is a husband-and-wife case,” Arfan stated. Meanwhile, the Head of the Tambora Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Sudrajat Djumantara, added that the victim was allegedly murdered using a pink bed sheet. “It cannot be confirmed yet. But the preliminary suspicion is that she was strangled with a bed sheet. There is evidence of the sheet at the crime scene,” Sudrajat said when contacted separately. The police have processed the crime scene related to the suspected murder case. The case remains under the investigation of the PPA Unit of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
