Houses destroyed in rainstorms

CILACAP, Central Java: At least 25 houses in the Sudagaran
village, Sidareja subdistrict, were destroyed, while dozens of
others were damaged to various degrees in the rainstorms which
hit the area on Sunday and Monday.

Regent Muhammad Soepardi visited the site on Monday and
donated food supplies and construction materials such as nails
and iron sheets for roofing.

The local people started to work together setting up makeshift
shelters and repairing damages. "Let's hope that some of the
residents can have their houses restored within the week so they
can observe fasting well," Soepardi told The Jakarta Post.
