Smoke billowed, leaving a choking stench of char, while the hurried footsteps of evacuating villagers signalled that a sense of security can collapse in an instant. The panic did not arise without cause. Amid the chaos, shadows of threats moved around the village, visible from aerial surveillance. A TNI unmanned aerial vehicle captured traces of unidentified individuals carrying firearms circulating near the location. From the sky, the threat appeared real, cold, and impossible to ignore. On the ground, security forces moved swiftly. The Koops TNI Habema patrol team combed the village area up to the estuary, ensuring the situation did not worsen. Their actions were firm yet measured, preventing tensions from escalating into broader disorder. Meanwhile, residents chose to stay away from their homes reduced to ashes. Some carried what they could salvage, while others brought only themselves and their lingering anxiety.
