Housemaid dies
after violent assault

TANGERANG: A 22-year-old housemaid died on Monday at Tangerang
General Hospital after being treated for five days for severe
injuries to her neck, allegedly sustained from a violent assault.

The housemaid had been found lying near the Dasana Indah
housing complex in Cipondoh, Tangerang municipality, last
Tuesday. Residents immediately rushed her to hospital for
intensive treatment.

Cipondoh Police named her boyfriend, Ipti Dain, 34, as a
suspect, detaining him six hours after the event. Chief Insp.
Sudaryo said that Dain had attempted to kill her because she had
demanded that he marry her.

Dain will be charged under Article 351 of the Criminal Code.
