House Wall Collapses in Bogor, Injuring Two Residents
A residential house collapsed and trapped its occupants in Empang Village, South Bogor District, Bogor City. Two people sustained injuries in the incident.
“The house structure collapsed, two people were struck by building materials whilst inside the house conducting their activities and suffered injuries,” said Sumardi, Operational Staff of Tagana Bogor City, on Friday (13 March 2026).
Sumardi stated that the incident was reported to have occurred at approximately 08:30 West Indonesia Time. The building collapsed whilst one victim was cooking in the kitchen and another victim was sleeping in the bedroom.
“Two residents were struck, one was sleeping and one was cooking. Both sustained injuries from being struck by house materials,” said Sumardi.
Separately, Dimas Tiko, Acting Head of the Bogor City Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), explained that the house collapsed because the structure had become unstable. The two people sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital for medical treatment.
“The roof collapsed due to wooden framework and walls becoming severely deteriorated and unstable. As a result, the roof and walls of the house in the main living area and bedroom of the house owned by Mrs Wiwin collapsed,” said Dimas.
“The victims were immediately transported to Bondongan Health Centre for medical examination. The victims have finished treatment. The affected residents are temporarily residing in rented accommodation,” he added.
