House to endorse solicitor bill

JAKARTA: The House of Representatives is expected to endorse
on Tuesday a bill on solicitors, a legislator says.

M. Akil Mochtar, a legislator deliberating the solicitor bill,
confirmed on Monday the House had completed deliberations on the
bill, which spells out the authorities, promotion scheme and the
recruitment process of solicitors.

If enacted, the bill will replace the existing law based on
colonial Dutch law, the Reglement op Het Notaris Ambt in
Indonesie. -- JP
