House sets up population forum
JAKARTA: Members of the House of Representatives from various factions and commissions declared on Wednesday the establishment of a parliamentary forum for population and development.
The forum will help the House conduct its legislation, budgetary and oversight functions, chairman Surya Chandra Surapaty said.
The forum affiliates itself to the Asian Parliamentary Forum for Population and Development, the UN Fund for Population Activities and the National Family Planning Coordinating Board.
Surya said the forum bore a mission to create quality generation through a sustainable development program. -- JP
