House Questions IDR 1.8 Trillion Fan Procurement for Kopdes Merah Putih: E-Commerce Price Only IDR 300,000 per Unit

The issue of procuring electric fans worth IDR 1.8 trillion for the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDMP) programme has come under scrutiny. This was raised by Mufti Anam, a member of House Commission VI from the PDI Perjuangan faction, during a working meeting with Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

‘Today, the public is in an uproar over the issue of procuring 1.8 million fans with a value of IDR 1.8 trillion. We have tried to seek information about this procurement but have received none from the government. Related parties have also been unwilling to answer. Therefore, on this occasion, I would like to ask the Minister: is the issue of procuring 1.8 million fans with a budget of IDR 1.8 trillion true?’ Mufti asked.

Mufti compared the price of a well-known brand of standing fan on e-commerce platforms, which retails for around IDR 300,000 per unit. He argued that if the government were to procure 1.8 million units, the unit price should be significantly more efficient. ‘A Cosmos standing fan in the official Cosmos e-commerce store costs IDR 338,000. Checking on Shopee and Tokopedia, the price is even cheaper, around IDR 300,000. That is for a single unit. If the government buys in bulk, even 1.8 million units, the price should be far cheaper than the IDR 300,000 we find on Shopee and Tokopedia,’ he explained.

He also highlighted the Ministry of Cooperatives and PT Agrinas Pangan’s consistent lack of transparency regarding procurement. He demanded that a public dashboard be created so that citizens can monitor every procurement for the Kopdes Merah Putih programme. ‘We request that a dashboard be created for every procurement under Kopdes Merah Putih, so that the public can see what is being procured, the purpose, and the price, ensuring accountability,’ he stated.
