House Pushes for Integrated Population Data to Fix Social Aid Distribution Errors

An official from the House of Representatives (DPR) has stated that integrating population data is an urgent necessity to minimise inclusion errors, where ineligible citizens receive social assistance, and exclusion errors, where eligible citizens are overlooked. The politician emphasised that the National ID Number (NIK) must serve as the foundation for integrating public services. He noted that the use of the Digital Population Identity (IKD) could strengthen the accuracy of identity verification, while the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) would act as a more integrated socio-economic database. He also encouraged the development of a Social Assistance Verification Ecosystem (ID-SAVE) that integrates the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) through NIK, IKD, and DTSEN, enabling data interoperability and automatic verification for aid distribution. Speaking at an event in Balikpapan, he argued that data inaccuracies not only cause budgetary inefficiency but also lead to social injustice and a decline in public trust.
