The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Saan Mustopa, has reminded officials within ministries and agencies to remain steadfast in President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to eradicating corruption. This statement was made in response to simultaneous legal cases involving the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, and the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Silmy Karim. He emphasised that ministers and heads of agencies serve as presidential aides and must uphold the President’s strong will regarding anti-corruption efforts.

Speaking at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Thursday, Saan expressed the House’s concern and regret regarding these concurrent legal issues, noting that such challenges are a reality facing the nation. Previously, on Wednesday, the Attorney General’s Office named three former officials of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects in an alleged corruption case involving the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for 2025–2026. Shortly thereafter, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) officially detained Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services Silmy Karim and seven civil servants from the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services on allegations of extortion. The KPK suspects that Silmy Karim received extortion proceeds during his tenure as Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights from January 2023 to October 2024.
