JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) plans to establish a command centre under the Special Committee (Pansus) on Agrarian Reform to accelerate the handling of agrarian conflicts in various regions.

The command centre is being prepared as a rapid channel to receive reports of land conflicts from the public, enabling immediate follow-up and mitigation.

“If we establish something like a command centre in the future, just like the other day when we received the information, our response was quick so that necessary mitigations could be carried out,” said Dasco during a meeting with a group of workers protesting on May Day in front of the DPR building, Friday (1/5/2026).

For example, in cases of arrests or conflicts between companies and communities, particularly farmers.

Dasco added that in the next session period, the Pansus on Agrarian Reform will be directly overseen by Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Saan Mustopa.

One of the key focuses of the work to be carried out is the inventory of urgent agrarian issues that need to be addressed immediately.

“So don’t give up (on defending agrarian reform). We must sit down again, please conduct an inventory of which ones are urgent and need to be followed up immediately,” said Dasco.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Saan Mustopa, stated that the establishment of the command centre is expected to serve as a rapid channel for receiving reports of agrarian conflicts from the public.

“Mr Dasco has already mentioned that we will create a command centre, so you can convey information that can be directly followed up,” said Saan.

Saan revealed that one of the focuses currently being addressed is the mapping of villages located in forest areas that are impacted by limited access to basic rights.

“The other day we just resolved issues related to villages in forest areas, which also affect the residents and communities who have lost a lot of access,” he said.

In addition, the DPR is also inventorying the redistribution of assets, including land in forest areas and land that is currently in dispute.

“Insyaallah, in the upcoming session starting 13 May, we will focus not only on asset redistribution but also on handling land disputes and conflicts that involve many people, so it’s communal in nature, not personal but more communal,” Saan concluded.
