House of Representatives to Continue Discussions on 4 Bills in Session V
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani revealed that the institution will continue discussions on four draft laws (RUU) during Session V of the 2025-2026 Sitting Year.
She conveyed this during the opening of Session V in a plenary session held at the Plenary Meeting Room, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
“The Indonesian House of Representatives, together with the government, will continue first-level discussions on several draft laws, including the draft law on amendments to Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector,” Puan stated in her opening speech for Session V on Tuesday.
In addition, the DPR will also monitor several strategic issues that are of public concern during this Session V.
Some of the issues being monitored by the DPR include recent land transportation accidents, the deployment of TNI troops in conflict areas, and the optimisation of the electronic identity card or e-KTP in public services.
“Ensuring a balance between the availability and prices of basic necessities so that they are affordable for the public, accelerating the implementation of sustainability practices in SOEs to maintain business continuity and enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global market, developing industrial zones to strengthen the downstreaming of agricultural and fisheries products,” Puan said.
“Let us carry out this function of people’s sovereignty with full trust and to the best of our ability,” said the politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).
