The House of Representatives (DPR) has formalised the interim replacement (PAW) for a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman for the 2026-2031 term. The decision follows the implication of the body’s chairman, Hery Susanto, in a bribery case at the Attorney General’s Office.

The approval was granted during a plenary session at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, chaired by Speaker Puan Maharani and attended by 291 members of the council. Puan stated that the DPR leadership had received the results of Commission II’s deliberations regarding the appointment.

Following the session, Deputy Speaker Saan Mustopa explained that the interim replacement would be selected based on the ranking order from the previous selection process for Ombudsman candidates. He noted that the candidate with the next sequential number would automatically fill the vacant position. When asked whether the successor to Hery Susanto would be Wahidah Suaib, Saan said he could not yet confirm the name and would need to verify it.

The nine members of the Indonesian Ombudsman for the 2026-2031 term are Hery Susanto (Chairman), Rahmadi Indra Tektona (Vice Chairman), Abdul Ghoffar, Fikri Yasin, Maneger Nasution, Nuzran Joher, Partono, Robertus Na Endi Jaweng, and Syafrida Rachmawati Rasahan. The nine reserve candidates, ranked in order from the fit and proper test, are Wahidah Suaib, Radian Syam, I Gusti Ngurah Agung Yuliarta Endrawan, Muhammad Nurkhoiron, Nazir Salim Manik, Faisal Amir, AH Maftuchan, Dian Rubianty, and Asnifriyanti Damanik.
