Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of House of Representatives Commission VII Hendry Munief fully supports the Ministry of Creative Economy’s (Kemenekraf) initiative to partner with applicators such as Meta to develop the creative economy (ekraf) and open pathways for sector practitioners to international markets. “We have received news that Kemenekraf has partnered with the technology company Meta. This collaboration will cover the exchange of market trend data, gamified-based creator training, as well as strengthening community guideline education to make digital activities safer and more responsible. This is very positive for growing the capacity and market of ekraf practitioners,” said Hendry in his statement in Jakarta on Monday. Gamified (gamification) is the application of game elements, principles, and mechanics such as points, levels, and leaderboards into non-game contexts. The goal is to increase user motivation, engagement, and behaviour in education, marketing, or work. Kemenekraf is also exploring collaboration with Meta to expand the reach of local creative economy actors to international markets through the utilisation of digital platforms and artificial intelligence. According to Hendry, this innovation will broaden the creative economy market reach up to the mastery of technology and information systems by creative economy practitioners. He also suggested that Kemenekraf should not only partner with Meta but also with other technology companies or applicators. The more applicators that are partnered with, the greater the opportunities for ekraf practitioners and SMEs to continue developing. “Besides Meta, Kemenekraf is also partnering with applicators, local markets, ride-hailing services, and AI developers. Ekraf practitioners and SMEs will have more sales in local markets. Thus, opportunities for SMEs and Ekraf will increase further,” he said. Previously, Deputy Minister of Ekraf Irene Umar emphasised the government’s role as a connector to ensure the creative ecosystem grows optimally and local works become increasingly competitive on the global stage. Meta has positively welcomed this collaboration, given the high level of creativity and technology adoption among Indonesians in developing businesses. This initiative is expected to help creators build a strong digital understanding to maximise the potential of digital platforms in reaching audiences more effectively. Kemenekraf has reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging local creative economy practitioners to penetrate international markets, among others through exploring collaborations with technology company Meta. This step reinforces the Ministry of Ekraf’s role as a strategic connector so that local works and talents become increasingly known and competitive on the global stage.
