Commission III member of the House of Representatives (DPR) Soedeson Tandra has responded to the Attorney General’s Office’s (Kejagung) formation of a special team to investigate the corruption case involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. Soedeson expressed confidence that the nine prosecutors on the special team possess integrity and are aware that their performance is under public scrutiny.

“This matter has already become a concern for the entire Indonesian public and the president. Therefore, I believe the Attorney General and his staff are certainly aware of this,” Soedeson said at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (17/7/2026).

The Golkar Party politician stated that his party trusts the Kejagung to act professionally. He noted that the special team’s work would also be subject to public oversight.

“They also have integrity and they know that the results of their work are being watched by the entire Indonesian public. So, I believe they will perform to the best of their abilities,” he said.

Nevertheless, Soedeson affirmed that the DPR supports the initiative as it falls within the institution’s authority. However, as a working partner, the DPR will continue to exercise its oversight function.

“We support and we oversee. Yes, we support it because it is the authority of the Prosecutor’s Office. But we, the DPR institution, are the oversight body. We will also supervise the work of this special nine-member team, and we urge them to enforce the law as firmly, fairly, and justly as possible,” he stated.

As previously reported, the Attorney General’s Office has begun investigating the corruption case involving former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the issuance of three new investigation warrants and the formation of a special team of nine prosecutors, most of whom have previous experience at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

“In the new investigation warrants we issued, a special team was formed. This team consists of nine individuals,” Anang said, adding that the prosecutors were deliberately selected based on their experience in handling corruption cases.
