Jakarta (ANTARA) - The House of Representatives (DPR) is following up on a letter from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the request for consideration of candidates for ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary to friendly nations and international organisations.

During a DPR Plenary Session in Jakarta on Tuesday, Deputy Speaker of the DPR Sufmi Dasco Ahmad assigned Commission I, which oversees foreign affairs, to discuss the presidential letter dated 10 August 2026.

“In accordance with the provisions of Article 231 of the DPR RI Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning Rules of Procedure, we request the approval of today’s plenary session to task Commission I of the DPR with discussing the presidential letter. Is this approved?” asked Dasco, which was subsequently approved by the legislators.

In addition, he stated that the leadership of the DPR has received presidential letters dated 1 and 14 September 2026 regarding the appointment of government representatives to discuss draft laws proposed by the DPR’s initiative.

The DPR leadership, he added, also received a letter from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) dated 17 September 2026 concerning a request for time to submit the Summary of Semester I 2026 Audit Results and the Semester I 2026 Audit Result Report.

“These letters have been and will be followed up in accordance with DPR RI Regulation Number 1 of 2020 concerning Rules of Procedure and the applicable mechanisms,” said Dasco.
