House of Representatives defers legal handling of former National Nutrition Agency Head Dadan to Law Enforcement
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has deferred the legal enforcement process regarding the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, to the law enforcement agencies (APH). “Whatever the outcome, we leave it to the law enforcement agencies, which certainly have their own considerations,” said Dasco during an interview following the DPR RI Leadership Meeting at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
He acknowledged having heard reports regarding searches conducted by the prosecutor’s office at the BQG offices. However, he stated that he did not yet have precise information regarding the arrest of several individuals. Additionally, he noted that the DPR RI, through Commission IX, has submitted evaluation notes regarding the BGN to the government. With the change in leadership at the BGN, he believes the government has taken the DPR’s suggestions into account.
“There are several notes aimed at improving the governance within the BGN. Regarding other matters, I am not as deeply involved as they were sent directly to the government,” he added. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto removed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), effective from 2 June 2026. The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, who also serves as the Presidential Spokesperson, announced the dismissal during a press conference at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Tuesday night.
