Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Deputy Speaker of the House of Primacy (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, stated that he has coordinated with Danantara, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, PT Taspen, and the Himpunan Bank Negara (Himbara) group to conduct a buyback of Himbara bank shares. According to him, this initiative is one of the results of an evaluation of the current banking situation. He noted that the current condition of the banking sector is actually developing very well.

“Perhaps the shares that are currently performing well could then be bought back,” said Dasco at the parliamentary complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the President Director of BNI, Putrama Wahju Setyawan, explained that fundamentally, the performance of Himbara is currently in its best condition. As an illustration, he noted that average credit growth in Himbara is around 20 per cent, while third-party funds have grown by approximately 20 to 30 per cent.

“Furthermore, liquidity is very well maintained, with the Loan-to-Deposit Ratio (LDR) sitting in the range of 88 per cent to 90 per cent,” he said. Given this, he expressed that Himbara’s fundamental performance is so strong that there is no need for concern or doubt regarding the fundamental conditions on the stock exchange.

On the same occasion, the State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, also conveyed that the nation’s economic fundamentals are very strong, particularly within the banking sector. Consequently, he urged market players, including the Himbara banks, to continue coordinating, discussing, and working hard to overcome economic challenges as collectively expected.
