House of Representatives Continues Discussions on Asset Forfeiture Bill, Seeking Input from Former KPK Leaders

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Saan Mustopa, stated that discussions regarding the Asset Forfeiture Bill are ongoing within Commission III of the DPR. Currently, the House’s Legal Commission is actively gathering aspirations from various sectors, including legal practitioners.

“Former leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have also been invited; everyone is being consulted to ensure the discussions are as comprehensive as possible,” Saan said at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (22/09/2026).

According to Saan, parties involved in law and asset forfeiture will be given the space to present their views to refine the bill’s material. He noted that the DPR remains committed to completing the Asset Forfeiture Bill according to the agreed schedule.

Furthermore, the DPR aims to pass the bill no later than 15 December 2026. “In accordance with the agreement, we will follow the timeline to ensure it is passed as agreed,” said the Deputy General Chair of the Nasdem Party.

Saan continued by explaining that the discussions on the bill are being conducted by Commission III through various meetings and aspiration-gathering forums. The DPR stated that public input is essential to enrich the bill’s content and to ensure that the regulatory formation process remains transparent.
