REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The leadership of the House of Representatives Commission VI, Nurdin Halid, expressed appreciation for the performance of state-owned mining enterprises, including PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM), which is deemed capable of maintaining positive performance amid global commodity price pressures throughout 2025.

In the Hearing Opinion Meeting (RDP) of the House of Representatives Commission VI on Tuesday (31/3/2026), Nurdin emphasised that the mining sector plays a strategic role in driving mineral downstreaming and national economic transformation based on added value.

“The mining sector serves as the backbone in building the industrial supply chain from upstream to downstream,” said Nurdin.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening governance, including in gold management, and urged companies like ANTAM to actively participate in national strategic programmes, including the involvement of cooperatives in the mining ecosystem.

According to him, illegal mining practices, particularly for gold, can be addressed through a cooperative approach as implemented by PT Timah.

“With a cooperative scheme, it is hoped that miners will receive more equitable benefits while reducing harmful intermediary practices,” he stated.

Meanwhile, ANTAM’s President Director, Untung Budiarto, conveyed that the company continues to strengthen gold business governance through transparency strategies and the development of integrated sales channels.

According to Untung, ANTAM adopts an omnichannel approach to reach a wider market, both in the corporate segment (B2B) and retail (B2C).

“This is ANTAM’s sales channel divided into B2B and B2C, covering physical gold, gold services, and digital gold,” he said.

In the B2B segment, ANTAM serves corporate and wholesale customers, including gold refining and analysis services, as well as the Brankas digital gold platform for corporations.

In the retail segment, sales are conducted through Butik Emas Logam Mulia (BELM), exhibitions, to digital channels such as the official website and various e-commerce platforms.

“Gold sales are also carried out through various e-commerce platforms such as Tokopedia and Shopee, as well as the Brankas digital gold service for individual segments,” he said.

Untung explained that the integration of physical and digital channels is part of the company’s business transformation.

In addition, ANTAM has increased transparency by providing real-time gold stock information accessible through queuing machines, the website, and screens at BELM.

“This innovation makes information more open to customers,” he said.

ANTAM has also introduced the Gold ATM (ATGM) innovation, which allows customers to transact directly with small denominations, while minimising human intervention.

Furthermore, the gold purchase queuing system is now online-based with multi-layered security, although offline options are still provided as part of a hybrid scheme.

Untung emphasised that all ANTAM gold transactions use an integrated system that can be audited.

“All transactions use an integrated system, recorded, auditable, and supported by routine inspections from the Head Office,” he asserted.
