House of Representatives Commission III Monitors NTT Police Performance, Praises Leadership of Inspector General Rudi Darmoko
Jakarta (ANTARA) – A Working Visit Team from the House of Representatives Commission III’s recess period directly inspected law enforcement performance in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Wednesday (22/4/2026). The visit, centred at El Tari Airport and NTT Police Headquarters, aimed to monitor the implementation of law and the maintenance of public security and order (harkamtibmas).
Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Dr. Habiburokhman, S.H., M.H., stated that NTT serves as a strategic point to directly observe how law enforcement apparatus handle various crucial issues.
Several agendas discussed included handling criminal acts of human trafficking (TPPO), sexual violence, narcotics, and the eradication of corruption.
On that occasion, Commission III expressed appreciation for the leadership style of the NTT Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Dr. Rudi Darmoko, S.I.K., M.Si. The law enforcement approach implemented by NTT Police was deemed not only firm procedurally but also highlighting a humanistic side.
“The policy direction I promote is to ensure that law enforcement runs in a balanced manner while upholding humanitarian values. The presence of the Indonesian National Police must be felt as protectors and nurturers of society,” said Inspector General Rudi Darmoko in his presentation.
He added that NTT Police is currently focusing on strengthening Human Resources (HR) capacity as well as expanding the implementation of restorative justice to bring a sense of justice closer to the community.
In line with that, the Head of Public Relations of NTT Police, Commissioner of Police Henry Novika Chandra, S.I.K., M.H., emphasised that this legislative visit serves as a momentum to strengthen synergy. “Solid collaboration will drive more professional, transparent, and just law enforcement in NTT,” he stated.
In addition to discussing specific cases, Commission III of the House of Representatives also stressed the importance of accelerating adaptation to modern legal systems following the enactment of the new Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code. Budget transparency and the effectiveness of priority programmes in the region were also key points in the dialogue.
This recess visit reaffirms the House of Representatives’ commitment to ensuring that police institutions in the regions can create a tangible sense of security through measured and directed leadership.
