House of Representatives Approves Seven Central Information Commission Members for 2026-2030

The plenary session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) approved seven candidates for membership of the Central Information Commission (KI Pusat) for the 2026–2030 period, based on the results of a fit and proper test conducted by Commission I. The seven names are Handoko Agung Saputro, Hafidhah, Arman Fauzi, Dery Hendryan, Edi Purwanto, Joemarthine Chandra, and Rini Purwandari. “Can this be approved?” asked DPR Speaker Puan Maharani at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, to which other legislators unanimously agreed. The plenary session also approved three interim replacement candidates for the Central Information Commission for the 2026–2030 period, namely Hendra, Andri Harsil, and Mimah Susanti. Deputy Chairman of Commission I Dave Laksono explained that the fit and proper test for the Central Information Commission candidates, held on 24–25 June 2026, was attended by 19 of the 21 candidates selected by the government. Two candidates, Arya Sandhiyudha and Sari Wardhani, withdrew. “The fit and proper test process for the Central Information Commission candidates proceeded smoothly according to the established schedule and was conducted openly, where each candidate presented their work plan, followed by an in-depth session through a question-and-answer process,” he said. “On behalf of the leadership and all members of Commission I of the DPR RI, I express my deepest gratitude to the leadership of the DPR RI, members of Commission I, the public, and the press for all the attention, input, and coverage provided during the fit and proper test process,” he added. Dave stated that the approved names would subsequently be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto for formal appointment as members of the Central Information Commission for the 2026–2030 period.
