Jakarta (ANTARA) - Nasyirul Falah Amru, also known as Gus Falah, a member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), has called on the Prosecution Commission (Komjak) to conduct a special examination of the case involving the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah.

Gus Falah said the special examination was important so that the case would be transparent from start to finish.

“That way, the public can get a true picture of this case outside the investigation process carried out by the team of investigators,” said Gus Falah in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

He explained that the Prosecution Commission has the authority, under the Prosecution Law and Presidential Regulation Number 18 of 2011, to monitor cases that attract public attention, one of which is the former Jampidsus case, for which the Prosecution Commission has already formed a special team.

He also expressed hope that the Prosecution Commission would exercise its authority in accordance with existing regulations so that the case achieves legal certainty.

“This case has drawn considerable public attention, given the background of the individuals involved who were regarded as having integrity and credibility. I am confident the Prosecution Commission can oversee this case well,” said the member of the Working Committee (Panja) on Law Enforcement Oversight regarding Case Handling by the National Police Corruption Crimes Task Force (Kortas Tipikor) and the Attorney General’s Office of Commission III of the DPR RI.

The Prosecution Commission is directly monitoring the handling by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) of the alleged corruption and money laundering case in which Febrie is a suspect.

He revealed that the Komjak team directly observed the questioning of witness and suspect DR (Don Ritto), being carried out by a team of investigators comprising nine Kejagung prosecutors.

According to him, the monitoring was conducted to obtain a direct picture of how the investigation process is being implemented, including adherence to the principles of professionalism, accountability, and compliance with applicable legal provisions.
