House Leadership Receives APKASI Delegation, Discusses Development Acceleration and Budget Efficiency
Jakarta, VIVA – The leadership of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) received an audience from officials of the Association of All Indonesian Regency Governments (APKASI) in the Leadership Room, Nusantara III Building, Senayan Parliamentary Complex, on Friday, 24 July 2026.
The audience was led directly by Deputy Speakers of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal.
Also in attendance were APKASI Chairman General Bursah Zarnubi along with his officials and a number of regents from various provinces.
The regents conveyed a range of inputs and aspirations directly to the DPR RI leadership, covering everything from regional governance to support for accelerating development in their respective areas.
One of the main issues raised during the dialogue was the budget efficiency policy, which has recently sparked public debate.
In response, Deputy Speaker Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal expressed his understanding of these dynamics and reaffirmed a shared commitment with the government to formulate the best solutions for the development and progress of regions across Indonesia.
He said the DPR RI continues to open the widest possible space for APKASI and all regents to channel their aspirations.
“We in the DPR RI are here to listen directly to the voices of the regents. The aspirations from APKASI today are important input for us to continue pushing budget policies that favour the acceleration of regional development,” said Cucun.
Meanwhile, Dasco added that the results of today’s dialogue would serve as material for the DPR RI to continue coordinating with the central government, so that the direction of the budget efficiency policy remains aligned with regional development needs.
For his part, APKASI Chairman General Bursah Zarnubi expressed appreciation for the dialogue space provided by the DPR RI leadership, while emphasising the importance of synergy between the central government and the regions amid current fiscal challenges.
“We appreciate the dialogue space given by the DPR RI leadership today. APKASI hopes that future budget efficiency policies will still leave room for regions to maintain the quality of basic public services, from education and health to infrastructure,” said Bursah.
Through this meeting, the DPR RI reaffirmed its commitment to continue working in synergy with the government and all regents to deliver optimal budget policies that support the development and advancement of regions throughout Indonesia.
