A natural phenomenon in the form of heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit the area of Sukadamai Village, Dramaga Sub-district, Bogor Regency, West Java. As a result, one resident’s house suffered damage.

M Adam Hamdani, Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of the Bogor Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), said the incident occurred on Monday night (3/8). The damage affected several parts of the house’s walls.

“Due to high-intensity rain accompanied by strong winds, combined with the factor of building materials that were already fragile, one house unit was affected and suffered damage to the walls of the bedroom, living room and kitchen,” said Adam on Tuesday (4/8/2026).

He said the house was occupied by six people. All the occupants evacuated after their house suffered damage.

“The victims evacuated to a relative’s house, totalling six people,” he explained.

Adam said there were no casualties in the incident. The fragile condition of the house’s materials and insufficiently strong supports were cited as factors causing the damage.

The damaged parts of the house have yet to be repaired. For the time being, the house is uninhabited for the safety of its occupants.

“If heavy rain and strong winds occur again, it is feared the damage will become even greater,” he said.
