A house in Bantarjati, North Bogor District, Bogor City, was engulfed in a severe fire on Sunday afternoon. Three residents suffered burns and were taken to hospital as a result of the blaze.

“The object that caught fire was a residential house. The victims are three people, consisting of two women and one child,” said M Ade Nugraha, Head of Fire Suppression and Rescue at the Bogor City Fire Department, in his statement on Sunday (23/8/2026).

Ade said the house fire was reported to have occurred while the three residents were inside the house at around 3.32 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. The fire was first reported to have appeared from the living room of the house, then grew and consumed almost the entire building.

“Based on information at the scene, according to witnesses, the fire was first detected originating from the living room of the house,” Ade said.

“The cause of the fire is still unknown, because the residents became victims in the incident and are still under medical treatment,” he continued.

As a result of the incident, the three residents, consisting of two women and one child, sustained injuries. All three have been taken to hospital for medical treatment.

“The two female victims suffered minor burns, and one child suffered minor injuries. All victims have been evacuated and taken to PMI Hospital to receive medical treatment,” he added.
