House Fire in Paseban, Central Jakarta: 115 Firefighters Deployed

A residential building in Paseban, Senen, Central Jakarta, was engulfed in fire. More than 100 firefighters were deployed to extinguish the flames.

“The object on fire is a residential house,” said an officer from the Command Center of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) on Thursday (20/8/2026).

The fire was reported to the fire department at 20.00 WIB. The burning house is located on Jalan Kramat Sawah RT 008 RW 007, Paseban Urban Village, Senen District, Central Jakarta.

Initial response was carried out by the Senen Sector fire brigade, which arrived at the scene at 20.05 WIB. Firefighting operations were immediately conducted.

“Fire status: extinguishing in progress,” the officer said.

As of 20.19 WIB, 23 fire engines and 115 firefighters had been deployed to the scene. Firefighters were still battling the blaze, with personnel working to prevent the fire from spreading further in the residential area.

In a video received by detikcom, the fire could be seen engulfing a two-storey house. Officers were attempting to stop the flames from spreading to neighbouring homes. The fire was reported to have started behind the Kramat Community Health Centre (Puskesmas).

The cause and chronology of the fire are not yet known, and it is also unclear whether there were any casualties.
