House fire in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta: 33 fire engines and 100 firefighters deployed

A house fire broke out in a residential property on Kemayoran Gempol Street in Kebon Kosong Village, Kemayoran Subdistrict, Central Jakarta, on Monday evening (1 June 2026). The Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) deployed 33 fire engines and 100 firefighters to tackle the incident. Bayu Meghantara, head of DKI Jakarta’s Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), said the initial report was received at 8:55 PM WIB. Fire units from Kemayoran Sector III were immediately dispatched. Officers arrived at the scene around 9:05 PM WIB and began extinguishing the fire to prevent it spreading to neighbouring buildings. Firefighters are still working to control the blaze affecting the residential area. He noted the situation remains risky as it could spread to other structures. There is currently no information on the cause of the fire or the number of homes affected. Officers are currently focused on extinguishing the fire at the scene.
