Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, met with anti-corruption activists and former leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in his office at the parliament complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/7).

Dasco shared the moment of the meeting via his personal Instagram account. “This afternoon, I received and held discussions with anti-corruption figures and founding fathers of the KPK at the Deputy Speaker’s office in the Nusantara III Building, Senayan, Jakarta,” Dasco wrote.

Those present at the meeting included former KPK leaders Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas and Chandra M. Hamzah, as well as senior journalist Bambang Harymurti and anti-corruption activists Natalia Soebagjo, Meuthia Gani Rochman, Felia Salim, Metta Dharmasaputra, and Arsil.

Dasco stated that the discussion focused on efforts to combat corruption and ensure a strong deterrent effect. “We discussed various matters, particularly steps and prevention measures against corruption, with the main goal of optimising the effectiveness and results of eradicating criminal acts of corruption,” Dasco said. “We also received various inputs regarding the Asset Forfeiture Bill currently being deliberated by the DPR.”

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the input and aspirations shared. Together, we will give our best for Indonesia,” he added.
