Jakarta, VIVA – House of Representatives Commission XII has emphasised that the state of national energy resilience, particularly petroleum fuel (BBM), is safe and under control.

This was stated in a press conference representing all leaders and members of Commission XII of the House of Representatives after a hearing (RDP) held on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, with the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, SKK Migas, BPH Migas, and PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.

Based on the presentation from the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, Commission XII of the House of Representatives noted that the national BBM supply is in a safe condition and able to meet public needs. This stability serves as an important indicator in maintaining national energy resilience amid global dynamics.

Meanwhile, SKK Migas reported that the performance of national oil and gas lifting shows good achievements and remains within the targets set in the state budget. This is a positive signal in maintaining the balance of domestic energy supply.

On the downstream side, BPH Migas reported that the oversight of BBM distribution is running well with no significant obstacles found. Oversight continues to be conducted strictly to ensure BBM distribution reaches the intended targets across all regions.

BPH Migas also emphasised that for any potential BBM misuse, actions have been taken in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, BPH Migas urged all parties not to misuse BBM to maintain fairness in national energy distribution.

Chairman of Commission XII of the House of Representatives, Bambang Patijaya, stated that the meeting results indicate the national energy situation is under control.

“From the presentations we received, our BBM condition is safe. Oil and gas lifting is still on track with targets, and on the downstream side, distribution oversight is running well without significant issues. If there is any misuse, firm actions have been taken by the relevant parties,” said Bambang, quoted on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

He added that Commission XII of the House of Representatives will continue to push for strengthened oversight and ensure all policies in the energy sector run optimally to maintain national supply stability.

Furthermore, Bambang reminded of the importance of the role of all parties, including the public, in maintaining national energy resilience by using BBM wisely and not engaging in practices that could disrupt distribution.
