House Commission XI Chair Urges SPPG Partners to Support MBG Governance Reforms

Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chair of House Commission XI, has urged partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) to remain enthusiastic in overseeing the governance improvements of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. He emphasised that the evaluation and reforms do not mean the flagship programme of President Prabowo Subianto will be terminated. “The government has decided on improvements, but will not close the MBG programme because this is a campaign promise of President Prabowo,” Misbakhun stated on Monday (10/8/2026).

Misbakhun made the remarks during a dialogue with SPPG partners across Probolinggo Regency, East Java. He explained that reforms are necessary because the MBG programme utilises the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN), meaning its implementation must adhere to the principles of transparency and accountability, with clear standards and procedures. “This is a public policy using state funds, using the APBN, so its governance must be regulated, transparent, open, and accountable with clear standards and procedures,” he said.

He therefore requested that SPPG partners participate in overseeing the governance reform process undertaken by the government as part of efforts to improve the programme’s implementation. “I ask that you follow the improvement efforts, the increase in standardisation, and the changes in governance properly. This is the spirit of reform,” he said. He also asked SPPG partners not to worry about the programme’s continuity and to continue providing nutrition services according to established standards. He noted that the partners have been instrumental in making the programme a success.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you have carried out part of the noble task mandated by the state. We must strengthen this programme so that the public truly feels the presence of the state,” he remarked. Misbakhun also expressed his appreciation to the SPPG partners who have been involved in providing menus for the MBG programme. The Head of Economic Policy at the Golkar Party Central Board assessed that the partners have participated in the state’s grand mission to build a generation with adequate nutrition for Indonesia’s future. “I want to thank you, as entrepreneurs, for being willing to initiate and engage in this great state effort, which is the vision and mission of President Prabowo Subianto, to break the chain of child malnutrition in Indonesia,” he concluded.
