House Commission X Appreciates 91.59 Percent Budget Absorption by Ministry of Youth and Sports
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) has expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ (Kemenpora) budget realisation under the 2025 State Budget, reaching 91.59 per cent of the revised allocation, or Rp2,206,188,883,295 out of a ceiling of Rp2,408,834,380,000.
“Commission X of the DPR RI appreciates Kemenpora’s budget realisation of 91.59 per cent. Going forward, Commission X hopes this achievement can be improved upon in the 2026 fiscal year,” said Deputy Chairman of Commission X Lalu Hadrian Irfani while chairing a working meeting in the Commission X session room in Jakarta on Tuesday.
On the same occasion, Commission X also offered its view that Kemenpora should strengthen the quality of its planning and budgeting by ensuring every programme and activity has measurable performance indicators, is results-oriented and aligns with the 2025-2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) targets.
“Kemenpora is expected to strengthen its internal control system, risk management and tiered supervision of budget execution, particularly in the procurement of goods and services, the distribution of government assistance, asset management and so on,” he said.
“It should accelerate the measurable resolution of recommendations from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) to increase the completion rate of follow-up on audit findings,” he added.
Members of Commission X also praised Kemenpora’s achievements, particularly in hosting MotoGP 2025, the Indonesia Sport Summit 2025 and the SEA Games 2025.
“The Gerindra faction also appreciates the SEA Games 2025 achievement, with 91 gold medals and a second-place finish — Indonesia’s best away performance since the 1995 SEA Games — accompanied by the timely disbursement of athlete bonuses totalling Rp465.25 billion. Likewise, the staging of MotoGP 2025 at Mandalika generated an economic impact of Rp4.96 trillion, while ISS 2025 supported the strengthening of the national sports industry ecosystem,” said Melly Goeslaw, a Commission X member from the Gerindra Party faction.
In response to the appreciation, Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir expressed his gratitude.
According to him, regarding the initial and revised 2025 budget ceilings for Kemenpora, the institution he leads does have several corrections that are currently being addressed. At the time, cross-deputy coordination was also underway — for example, in the Indonesia Sport Summit (ISS) 2025 programme, where all deputies worked together.
“Thank God, at ISS 2025 last time there were many breakthroughs, one of which was receiving delegated assignments from other relevant ministries and agencies. And finally, how to ensure that national training camps and preparations for the SEA Games 2025 and Paragames are running well,” said Erick.
