House Commission VII Appreciates ANTARA's Budget Increase in 2027 Work Plan

The Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Singapore (DPR RI), Saleh Partaonan Daulay, has expressed his appreciation for the National News Agency (LKBN) ANTARA regarding the projected increase in the Corporate Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) for the year 2027.

He stated his satisfaction with ANTARA’s enthusiasm in projecting a budget increase of approximately 30.67 per cent. However, he noted that ANTARA must provide assurance that all planned programmes can be successfully implemented.

“This is, in fact, a spirit that I believe deserves appreciation,” said Saleh during a meeting with public broadcasting institutions at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Nevertheless, he did not deny that realising the RKAP targets would not be easy, particularly given his assessment of the current intense competition within the media business landscape.

He requested that ANTARA outline the specific efforts that will be undertaken to achieve these targets, so that there is confidence in their attainment.

Meanwhile, the President Director of LKBN ANTARA, Benny Siga Butarbutar, stated that ANTARA is targeting a revenue increase of 30.67 per cent, derived from Public Service Obligation (PSO) revenue, commercial revenue, and revenue from subsidiaries.

He explained that this revenue target is pursued as a strategic step for ANTARA to serve as a fortress for state information amidst the surge of information traffic and misinformation.

According to him, ANTARA is striving to strengthen the bargaining position of state information to counterbalance the information circulating on social media and through homeless media.
