House Commission VI Promotes SOE Partnerships for MSMEs in Situbondo

Situbondo (ANTARA) - Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk’s Situbondo branch, East Java, held a socialisation event on state-owned enterprise (BUMN) partnerships targeting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and local Muslimat NU members on Saturday.

“We facilitated a meeting between MSME actors and Muslimat NU with BRI Situbondo branch to present banking programmes while also directly absorbing the aspirations of the community,” said Commission VI member HM Nasim Khan to reporters in Situbondo on Saturday.

The BUMN partnership socialisation with Bank BRI Situbondo branch, held during the recess period at the hall of SMA Negeri 2 Situbondo, focused on financial literacy and easier access to financing.

In addition, Nasim said, hundreds of participants also received an understanding of the People’s Business Credit (KUR) programme and the banking system, as well as education on the dangers of online loans (pinjol).

The Commission VI member from the National Awakening Party (PKB) faction also said that besides socialising banking financing products, the activity also served as a platform to gather aspirations from the community in the City of Santri.

“We also collect aspirations or complaints from the public regarding obstacles in accessing financing at financial service institutions,” said Nasim.

Nasim emphasised that he will continue to oversee and provide assistance on various problems faced by residents in East Java, particularly in the East Java III electoral district (Situbondo, Bondowoso, Banyuwangi).

“Going forward, this oversight and partnership synergy activity will continue to be intensified and will involve the entire network of Himbara banks and other state-owned enterprises in the Situbondo, Bondowoso and Banyuwangi areas,” he said.
