The leadership of House Commission VI of the Republic of Indonesia’s DPR, Nurdin Halid, has expressed appreciation for the performance of state-owned mining enterprises, including PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM). He assessed that state-owned mining companies have continued to maintain positive performance amid global commodity price pressures throughout 2025. Moreover, according to Nurdin, the mining sector plays a very strategic role in driving mineral downstreaming and national economic transformation based on added value. “The mining sector serves as the backbone in building the industrial supply chain from upstream to downstream,” said Nurdin during the House Commission VI’s Hearing with Opinions (RDP), Tuesday, 31 March 2026. He also emphasised the importance of strengthening governance, including in gold management, and encouraged companies like ANTAM to actively participate in national strategic programmes, including the involvement of cooperatives in the mining ecosystem. He mentioned that illegal mining practices, particularly gold, can be resolved through a cooperative approach as has been done by PT Timah. “With a cooperative scheme, it is hoped that miners will receive more equitable benefits while reducing intermediary practices that are detrimental,” he said. Meanwhile, ANTAM’s President Director, Untung Budiarto, stated that the company continues to strengthen gold business governance through transparency strategies and the development of integrated sales channels. According to Untung, ANTAM adopts an omnichannel approach to reach a wider market, both in the corporate segment (B2B) and retail (B2C). “This is ANTAM’s sales channel divided into B2B and B2C, covering physical gold, gold services, and digital gold,” he said. In the B2B segment, ANTAM serves corporate and wholesale customers, including gold refining and analysis services, as well as the Brankas digital gold platform for corporations. As for the retail segment, sales are conducted through Butik Emas Logam Mulia (BELM), exhibitions, to digital channels such as the official website and various e-commerce platforms. “Gold sales are also carried out through various e-commerce platforms such as Tokopedia and Shopee, as well as the Brankas digital gold service for the individual segment,” he said. Untung explained that the integration of physical and digital channels is part of the company’s business transformation.
