Charles stated that his team would immediately finalise the draft of the new Labour Bill. “We are currently focused on completing the discussion of the Labour Bill, which must be finished within these two days,” Charles said after meeting with the labour unions at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (3/8/2026). Charles is targeting the Labour Bill to be finalised in the Commission IX Working Committee within two days. Afterwards, the draft will be discussed by the Legislation Body. “Our target is that within these two days, by tomorrow, it will be finished being discussed in the commission, in the Working Committee. After that, it will proceed to the Legislation Body, and so on,” Charles stated. Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal met with 18 labour unions at the parliament to discuss the Labour Bill. The meeting between the labour unions and the House leadership took place at the Nusantara III building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (3/8/2026). The labour side was attended by KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea and KSBSI President Elly Rosita Silaban, among others. “We received 18 confederation presidents of the labour unions. Even if later there are still some who have not met with the entire working committee drafting the Labour Bill, we will continue to receive, accept, and accommodate their input in the context of drafting the academic text for this Labour Bill,” Cucun said after meeting with the labour unions.
